Q: WHAT ARE YOU VOTING FOR IN 2024?

IT’S TIME TO FLIP THE SCRIPT. IT’S TIME TO VOTE.
Young Americans represent the most progressive generation in our nation’s history – but we need to show up for any of that to matter. Gen Z is letting the Baby Boomer generation completely lap us when it comes to voter participation – and we’re seeing the dismal results. It’s time to flip the script. It’s time to VOTE.

21ST CENTURY POLITICS DESERVES 21ST CENTURY VOICES.
When it comes to issues like gun safety, LGBTQAI+ rights, climate change, women’s reproductive freedom, protecting democracy and more, we’re the generation taking the charge and actually leading. And justice won’t come without our direct action.
Common Sense Gun Safety Laws
Each day 12 children die from gun violence in America. Another 32 are shot and injured.1
Each day 12 children die from gun violence in America. Another 32 are shot and injured.1
Our generation has lived firsthand through the horrific consequences of America’s gun violence problem. The school shooter drills we grew up with from elementary school onward did not used to be the norm. We cannot standby and passively watch it become the norm in schools, churches, malls, nightclubs, and concerts. We know “thoughts and prayers” are empty words meant to get dishonest politicians through another news cycle of death and tragedy. Guns are the leading cause of death among American children and teenagers. Over 10% of gun deaths are aged 19 or younger.
This is a uniquely American problem and requires common-sense gun safety laws to be put in effect ASAP. We can – and will – respect responsible gun ownership while taking weapons of war away from the wrong hands. It’s beyond time for America to adopt universal background checks and ban assault weapons. We don’t have to settle for fear, anxiety, and panic every time we go to school or go shopping. We won’t accept it.
Women’s Reproductive Rights

The smartest and most well-read political minds of our time assured us that Roe v. Wade was the law of the land – that there was no way the Supreme Court would overturn 50 years of precedent, so we needn’t worry about it. How tragically wrong they were.
It goes without saying that a woman’s bodily autonomy is not something for the government to decide. Reproductive freedom, including abortion, can and should be recognized as an inalienable right in this country – a right enjoyed by women and men for over 50 years before our current backsliding. What a woman does with her body is her choice – NO ONE else’s. And unless we act against this regressive and shameful trend now, our rights will only deteriorate further and further.
It is unconscionable that states like Texas have outlawed abortion even in the case of rape and incest – a shocking revocation of rights once thought impossible. An estimated 26,000 women in Texas have now become pregnant as a result of rape – nearly 5x higher than the second-highest state on the list. Now, these women will have no choice but to give birth to their rapist’s baby whether they want to or not, or else risk significant prison time. This is a choice no woman in America, or the world, should ever have to make. We can and must make our voices heard so that we can restore reproductive freedom everywhere in America.
Equal Rights for LGBTQIA+ Citizens
Over 520 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in state legislatures in 2023 alone. The threat towards LGBTQ+ rights is higher than ever.3

LGBTQ+ rights are human rights, and human rights are LGBTQ+ rights. And these rights unfortunately require constant advocacy and defense even in 2024 and beyond.
With a shameful slate of anti-trans bills becoming the law in many states and current Supreme Court justices openly musing about overturning Oberfell v Hodges – the decision that legalized same sex marriage – it’s clear that those of us who believe in actual equality cannot stand by.
LGBTQ+ citizens still face discrimination in our communities and continue to face discriminatory obstacles that others don’t. This is unacceptable. We stand for the protection and equality of all people, no matter who they love or how they identify. We stand against the hateful, dangerous anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric that stokes fear and leads to millions of Americans losing basic rights.
Protect Our Planet for Future Generations
Not only was 2023 the hottest year in recorded history, our climate is getting hotter faster than experts feared it would.4
Not only was 2023 the hottest year in recorded history, our climate is getting hotter faster than experts feared it would.4
Climate change and the heating of our planet from fossil fuel emissions is the biggest issue of our lifetime – and the lifetime of our children, and their children, and their children – and yet so many politicians act like it’s not happening, or explicitly deny reality. Here’s the reality: we’re watching our planet deteriorate before our eyes for the financial benefit of a few wealthy CEOs.
Historic natural disasters are becoming a regular occurance, and they’re hitting us harder than ever before. Summers are hotter, winters are colder, and the strain that large-scale environmental change is putting on our power grids is unsustainable. We know the threat that climate change poses on our daily existence because we grew up seeing its effects firsthand. Older generation politicians are simply unable to see this threat for what it is. That’s why our voice is so critically important. Without it, we are literally doomed.
It’s time to put our voice to use and elect politicians who see the climate crisis for what it is– a daily threat that is only getting worse, not some far-off “what if” in the future. Only our voice and our votes are going to bring justice.
High-Quality, Affordable Public Education

It’s no surprise to anyone born after 1980 that the education system in America is broken and corrupt in fundamental ways. As one of the most critical factors for achieving a better quality of life, we believe all Americans have the right to high-quality public education and affordable post-high school secondary education.
However, many powerful interests don’t want the youth of America to be informed and critical thinkers – because we’d challenge their power. They’re trying to undermine education at every turn, whether its shutting down DEI programs at universities, cutting badly-needed funding for public schools, banning book in school libraries, or pressuring teacher’s unions, the threat is coming from multiple angles.
Public education should be high-quality, in an environment in which students are safe and respected, and in which teachers are secure and well-paid. Higher education should be affordable for all who seek it. We all deserve the chance to learn, develop skills, and best prepare ourselves to manifest our own American dreams. Supporting students, educators, and schools against those who wish to gatekeep opportunity for themselves is of the utmost importance.
Protecting Democracy Against Authoritarianism
America is undergoing unprecedented democratic backsliding as our right to vote comes under threat.6
America is undergoing unprecedented democratic backsliding as our right to vote comes under threat.6
Democracy itself is under threat in America, from a variety of sources: unconstitutional gerrymandering- as we’ve seen in North Carolina and Wisconsin; the shuttering of polling places nationwide; a concerted effort to make voting by mail more difficult; the January 6th defenders and the Project 2025 pushers.
Democracy isn’t perfect, but it’s fragile and demands our vigilance to ensure its continued health and viability. We’re witnessing a concerted effort to devalue the American voter, whether that’s making voting logistically impossible, demoralizing people into staying home, implementing discriminatory voter ID laws, or politicians boldly refusing to acknowledge election losses.
We say NO to destructive and conspiratorial “election integrity” bills that only serve to overturn unfavorable results. We say YES to measures like automatic voter registration, early voting periods, vote-by-mail, opening ballot sites in under-served neighborhoods, and strengthening civic participation. Democracy is a muscle: we have to use it or lose it.
